AOA on the Hill
Join our growing and enthusiastic Delegation this year as we meet with Maryland House and Senate representatives in congress to advocate for pro-optometry legislation and policy.
Each year, AOA students, doctors, Affiliate leaders and third party experts come together in Washington D.C. to participate in meetings and join forces in an effort to advance the profession's legislative goals. Delegations from every state meet with their representatives in Congress during Conference "Hill Day" visits. The combined efforts of the hundreds of doctors, students and Association leadership that participate in this event each year is critical to AOA's legislative success.
2023 AOA on the Hill is BACK!
SAVE THE DATE: Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday, June 22
Join our growing and enthusiastic Delegation this year as we meet with Maryland House and Senate representatives in congress to advocate for pro-optometry legislation and policy. Doctors and students from throughout Maryland are needed to ensure our Delegation meets with each and every legislator's office. Tell your representatives on the Hill what is important to you and the profession. Appointments last about 15 to 20 minutes and the commitment to participate is approximately a half day. This is a great opportunity to meet colleagues from around the State in a joint effort to help advance and protect the profession of optometry. If you are interested in participating as a member of the 2023 Maryland Delegation, please REGISTER TODAY and email MOA your availability during the two day event. Questions? Contact MOA Executive Director Jennifer Cohen via email or by phone at (410) 486-9662.
